Day Three August 12th, 2000

Today we are up at 7 a.m. KOA has been good to us. We mail some postcards and get ready for another day of travel. Today we will cross the border into TJ. This is going to be a great day.

As we travel the teens again beg to worship and we hold them off until the stretch of highway before San Diego. We stop at a truck stop and Gary has his brakes checked. We get to spend some time just enjoying each other's goofiness. It is amazing to watch the team grow closer together. They are all great kids. I am proud to be their youth pastor. Many of the kids stand outside with the free prayer sign. We get to pray for many people.

We stop at the border to exchange our money and get our last McDonalds food. Matt buys General Tsoas chicken with fried rice… oh man that smells good. We call home and jump back on the bus. As we cross the border the guard asks some general questions and we are off into TJ. We merge onto the Tecate Toll road and we are off toward the village. This is exciting.

When we arrive Pastor Tencho and his family are at the church to greet us. They are incredible people and I love them dearly! We enjoy some fellowship and then set up camp. That night we have a worship service in the little church. It is awesome! God's Spirit is so incredible! We meet our translator Marcello- or Marshmallow is what he calls himself. He is great guy. He is young, funny and has a very kind way about himself. God has a word for Branden, Abby, Carmen and Gery and Adam. It is late and we need to get some sleep. The day will soon be upon us. Pastor Tencho has asked me to preach.
