Day 4 Sunday August 13th

We wake early and get together for a brief instruction time before our quiet time. The kids are tired. The bugs were horrible for the girls last night. Jewel is the bug queen with single-handed ingenuity; she is taking on the bugs with her bare hands! We decide that tonight the girls get to sleep in tents. J Quiet time devotions are good this morning. Many of us share what God is saying to us. Pastor and the worship team arrive at 8 a.m. I am still getting ready to preach- I want to preach a message of fire to this awesome church.

We give pastor Tencho the guitar that we have saved up the money for. He is touched beyond belief. This is probably the most expensive gift he has recieved. The village in which he pastors is not the best income that can be found. He probably only makes $200 or $300 per month on his salary. We are praying about helping support Pastor Tencho and his wife Elizabeth.

The teams are practicing their human video, they are also preparing for Sunday school. The people begin to show up, we are so glad to see them, but they are the ones that are so gracious and happy to see us. We are blessed to know a humble people like this. This is good for us. Jadon coins the phrase "anybody want a peanut?" from a movie, and quotes it so many times we can't count. (This lasts all week)

Pastor Tencho does a quick bible study with us and plays some music with the praise band. The drummer is sick and they ask me to fill in… wow. That is cool so I do. Drums to songs I have never heard before! We praise the Lord and continue to meet the people as they come in. The service starts and we are blessed. Josiah shares his testimony, so does Branden. The team does the human video for the church. They are blessed. It is great. Pastor Tencho has Gery share a brief moment and then he invites me to speak to the church. Marcello and I begin. This is the second time that I have had a translator- the first being last year at this same church! The team splits up to do Sunday kids church and adult church. The kids love the teens and they all hit it off well. This is great!...

Church is over and it is over 100 degrees today. Way too hot! We change into our swimming trunks after eating some chef salad and we are on our way to Tecate Beach, a swimming pool and fun center about 15 minutes from the camp. We have a great time, and we are refreshed. Now we head into Tecate to sample the cuisine. Los Amigos is the restaurant that we eat our steak tacos at. They are fabulous. Then after we sample some Mexican ice cream we walk to the park with my guitar. We all sit down and we begin to worship in the Mexican park. People begin to gather around and watch. We can't preach to them because we have no permit. It is really hard not too. After about 30 minutes the bus pulls up and we are on our way back to camp. Tonight we will worship together after we set camp back up. We laugh a bunch and then we worship together before the feet of Jesus, it is tremendous. What an honor to serve Jesus.
