DAY 6 Tuesday August 15th, 2000
Today we will be working at three different ministry sites. Pastor Tencho's house is so unsafe it is not even funny. The wires are bare in many places and the power feed coming into the house is all on one breaker! The kids raised over $500 for the electrical project and are happy to be helping put it in. The first team goes to Pastors house and coordinates with David Cooper, while a whole team stays back at the church to clean the grounds and wash the windows. Another team of kids rides with Jerry Patchen, the NOW coordinator into TJ to the ministry site of Katrina and Roman. Here they will be sanding sheet rock, shoveling dirt and babysitting the onsite missionary kids. At pastor Tencho's the work is going fast! The kids dig a long ditch to lay the conduit for the wires. The pick is hard at getting the rock out of the way. It is a tough dirt! Jewel is amazing as well as Matt, Crystal, Rachel and Adam. Our friend Louise from Mexico is also helping us. He is a great guy. Josiah gets blisters so bad that his hands are bleeding. Rhianna plays Florence Nightingale and applies stuff to his hands. Ralph is amazing at wiring. He is a very hard worker. We have to pound an 8 foot grounding rod into the rocky soil. Man this is going to be fun!
We work all day at the sites and are very tired and dusty. We take an offering for Pastor Tencho's water supply and our friend Martin finds some guys with a water truck. Pastor has been without water for few days. We raise 113 pesos or about $10 American money for the water truck. The girls clean out the Pila (water reservoir) getting ready for the water delivery. Here it comes, it looks great, but we can't drink it. We would be visiting the bano too much. (bano=bathroom) We get our water from the store, it is purified so that we don't get the bug.

We all get back to camp and Josh, Sarah and Heidi decide to wash some laundry. The washboard comes in handy. Others take a short rest. That night we again get together and worship the Lord together, tonight the Lord showed up in all the team members as they talked about what they would lay at Jesus feet. They are soooo transparent. How amazing. Then after we laugh and talk Shadow Theater follows with the addition of Jadon C. Tonight Andre the giant meets Yoda… It is a big success. Our translator asks for prayer, it is 11:45pm, and Josh, Josiah, Ralph and I go into the church and pray with him. We get to bed around 12:30 am.
